PAUL BUTLER
Graphic and Motion Design
In my Graphic and Motion design work I take influence from across the history of the art as well as keeping up with contemporary styles, providing flexibility for any project. I also look to the future, experimenting with my own aesthetic and exploring new places the medium can go
Showreel
Showreel of my work, the projects and my roles are described on the bottom right of each clip
Incredible Save the Date
As designers my wife and I created most of our decorative elements, using the films of Pixar as our theme. I designed this save the date card based around “The Incredibles” incorporating the film’s style and referencing graphic design of the 60’s in form and texture
Psychadelic Styles
Animation of a mushroom smoothly transitioning between a variety of styles, creating a subtle and hypnotic experience blending old-school psychadelic designs with modern animation.
Fictional ‘Suspiria’ Game Print advert
An advert for a fictional game adaptation of the Dario Argento film Suspiria for the Commodore 64 home computer. Made in style of adverts in old comptuter magazines, using my pixel art skills to create hardware-accurate fake screenshots
Christmas Card
A commissioned design for a christmas card. The brief asked for simplicity and imagery that felt like christmas without going into the traditional Santa or Christian imagery
